We had two ground rules when we got our dog:
1. The dog would not get on the couch. He’d have a bed next to the couch.
2. He would not sleep in our bed. He’s have his own bed next to our bed.
Go ahead and guess how many of those rules are upheld now.
The puppy got his way on the couch the first time he figured out he could get up there on his own. He jumped up, plopped his head in my lap and that was the end of that fight. Game over.
The day I lost the bed war, incidentally, was the day Blue realized daddy was a softy too. Blue jumped up and cuddled up next to J. “He’s so sweet. I can’t make him get down.”
Little punk. Had his mom and dad wrapped aro
und his little paw in a few days.
I did insist that we keep a towel on the couch just in case though. It’s turned out to be a lifesaver, or couch saver, if you will. The dog has jumped up there pukey, poopy, and wet.
And a side note. Check out how quickly they grow! The first picture above was Blue when we first got him. The next picture is of him and J now (8 mos). Holy growth spurt, Batman!
And once again, I know what you mean.. Our pup gained 10lbs in the three weeks he’s been home with us! it’s nuts!! The vet says that’s just what happens with puppies
